Dursasana

Raden Dursasana is the second son of Prabu Destarastra of Astina. He reigns in the princedom of Banjarjungut, and is sometimes referred to as “Kesateria of Banjarjungut.” He is beloved of his parents and of his older brother, Suyudana, and as a result he is quite spoiled and willful in his behavior. No one is capable of restraining him in his wishes. Dursasana is coarse and boastful and has a boisterous laugh. When he walks he takes long strides, winging his hips, and even when kneeling before the king he sways his body to and fro–a most unorthodox attitude.

Dursasana is a hero of the kingdom of Astina and he fights with Wrekudara in the Baratayuda, but is defeated and slain by the fierce Pandawa warrior.

Dursasana has telengan putih eyes, a dempak nose [large, flat, and slightly bulbous] and his lips are curled back exposing his gums. He is tall and stocky and considered by the Kurawas the “Wrekudara of Astina”. Dursasana wears a topong [=conical] crown, a diadem with the garuda ornament in back and sekar kluwih ear ornaments. He wears the ulur-ulur necklace as well as bracelets, anklets and armbands. He wears the kerajaan lengkap dress.
