Matswapati

Prabu Matswapati is the renowned king of Wirata and is known as raja binatara [revered, god-like king], a king who rules other kings. The kingdom of Wirata is considered the oldest of the kingdoms of the purwa age. Prabu Matswapati has three sons, Raden Seta, Raden Utara and Raden Wratsangka and a daughter, Dewi Utari.

Prabu Matswapati has special affection for the Pandawa brothers. He sides with the Pandawas in the Baratayuda and serves as their leader and counsellor.

Prabu Matswapati has kedondongan eyes, a pointed nose and delicate mouth; he has a beard. He wears the topong crown, the praba and waderan ear ornaments. He wears bracelets, anklets and armbands. His dress is the bokongan raton.
