Patih Tuhayata is the patih (chief counselor) in the kingdom of Mandraka from the reign of Prabu Salya until that of his grandchildren. He is respected as an elder of the kingdom and he lives until the end of the Baratayuda, though he is not mentioned in the story of that battle.

Tuhayata has kedondongan eyes, large, slightly bulbous (dempak) nose and a serene face. He wears the didem with the garuda in back, with a portion of hari hanging down his back in the ngore gimbal style. He wears the sekar kluwih ear ornaments and the ulur-ulur necklace worn like a shawl over one shoulder. he wears a keris whose handle is visible as a sign that he is not a kesateria. He wears bracelets, anklets and armbands. He wears the rapekan tentara dress over woven-silk (cinde) trousers.
