Kenyawanda

Kenyawandu is a generic puppet which is used to represent an unfeminine Rakseksi [ogress] who rules over the raksasa in a kingdom or serves as guardian to the king. The puppet can be used in any raksasa kingdom and she often serves as minister to the king with such names as Cantekawarti, Kepetmega, etc. She has magic power and can fly.

Kenyawandu has kedelen putih eyes, a large bulbous nose and an open mouth revealing teeth and fangs. She wears a small diadem and her hair hangs in the gimbal style. She wears the long sekar kluwih ear ornaments asa well as bracelets, armbands and anklets. Her dress is the rapekan worn over long kembang limar breeches. in her waistband she wears the wedung, a sharp-pointed, cleaver-like knife in a wooden sheath. this is worn as a sign that she is a servant of a king; if she enters the palace the knife is inserted in the left side of the waistband. The wedung is only used for cutting objects in the presence of the king.
